Tom had a pet parrot. The parrot’s name was Pepper. He was a smart parrot. He could talk.
One day, Tom was eating cookies in the kitchen. Pepper was in his cage.
He looked at Tom and said, “Cookie, please.” Tom laughed.
“Pepper, you want a cookie?”
“Cookie, please,” Pepper said again.
Tom gave Pepper a small piece of cookie. Pepper did a happy dance.
“Looks like you love cookies,” said Tom.
The next day, Tom’s friend Lisa came to visit. Pepper liked Lisa because she gave him treats.
When Lisa saw Pepper, she said, “Hello Pepper! How are you?”
Pepper looked at Lisa and said, “Cookie, please.” Lisa laughed and gave Pepper a small cookie.
“You are very smart, Pepper,” she said.
Later, Tom and Lisa were talking in the living room. They heard Pepper in the kitchen saying, “Cookie, please.” They smiled and kept talking. But Pepper kept saying, “Cookie, please. Cookie, please.”
They went to the kitchen to see what was happening.
Pepper was in front of a mirror saying, “Cookie, please.” Pepper thought it was another parrot who might give him a cookie! Tom and Lisa laughed.
“Pepper, you are so funny,” said Tom.
